Got Any Leftovers From Christmas?

We have one! Our Quezo de Bola is half-consumed. So what can we do about this? Well, we made it into cheese sticks. Quezo de Bola has a different taste when it is fried. Yummy, yummy cheese sticks fit for dessert!

It’s so easy to prepare, even kids can do it. All you need is lumpia wrappers and Quezo de Bola or any leftover cheese. Get a sheet of lumpia wrapper, place the sliced cheese in the middle of the wrapper, roll it, then deep fry it in oil until golden brown.

Looks delish.

It’s A Fish Day!

Yup, we decided to celebrate the Chinese New Year by eating fish and other seafood dishes. Thanks to Fish and Co., you’ll never get tired of eating fish. Their Fried Calamari is a dish you thought you tasted but when you try theirs, you’ll taste the difference from other restaurants. You’re gonna say “this is the best Calamari I’ve ever had in my entire life” and that’s a personal experience!

Market One At The Lung Center Of The Philippines

If you’ve got nothing to do on a Sunday morning, go to Market One at the Lung Center grounds in Quezon City. We usually go there at 8am when we need to buy fresh meat, fruits and vegetables for the week. It’s also a good excuse to eat breakfast outside of the house if you guys get a bit lazy to cook for a family of four on Sunday mornings.

At Market One, you’ll find longganisa from Quezon province, empanada of Vigan, coffee from Benguet and others. If you’ve been to these places and you miss eating their delicacies or specialties, then Market One is the place for you. If you’re lucky, you might even see celebrities and politicians doing their shopping chores. We once shared a table with Cong. Butch Abad of Batanes who casually sipped coffee and talking to the stall owner.

Aside from these, there are also people who sell slippers, shoes, shirts, blouses, pants, bags, antiques, potted plants and flowers, toys, pets, fresh fruit juices, viands et al. You name it, it’s all here. Some of my fab finds are Crocs slippers at 500 pesos a pair, a bag made from unused jeans and decorated with sequins for 200 pesos, striped pants for 300 pesos, and blankets with cute designs for 180 pesos.

Check out the pics:

Celebrating Obama’s Inauguration At TGI Friday’s

Barack Obama is the 1st African-American President of the United States breaking all racial barriers. The name of Obama is now synonymous to ch-ch-change. This calls for a celebration! The venue for the inauguration party was at TGI Friday’s Boni High Street. Yehey.com and TGI Friday’s have been very kind to invite some bloggers to this party.

Among the menu were Cajun Shrimp, Chicken Pasta and Caesar Salad Platter, Choco Ice Cream Cake. I didn’t bother remembering the names of each dish because they looked really delicious and I couldn’t wait to taste it. Some dishes that I enjoyed: (1) nachos with salsa dip, (2) chicken balls stuffed with mozarella cheese, (3) a pasta dish with lots of cream and cheese, (4) pork liempo, and (5) a huge burger with fries.

The ‘Thank You’ Girls Now Showing At Robinsons IndieSine

I’ve been waiting for this film since September and now it’s finally on IndieSine!

I like this indie movie personally because the actors speak Bisaya which I awefully miss hearing. I have a lot of gay friends and I learned some gay lingo from them so understanding what the actors say even without subtitles will not be a burden for me. It also features Davao sceneries so it’s like travelling. I’m so excited! I wish Marlone was here. I’m sure he’ll enjoy watching this.

Eastwood City, Take Two

It’s my second time to be in Eastwood City. The first time I went there, it was night and my blogger friends and I dropped by there after a food event. I was so glad to walk around this DOT-Accredited Tourism Entertainment Complex for the second time around. I love looking at the Spanish-inspired building facade and the patio-style dining. Every restaurant in Eastwood City has it’s own theme just like Il Pirata which has its own pirate ship and Big Kahuna has its own Moai (large stone heads) like the ones in Easter Island. Plus, Eastwood City has a Walk of Fame and Wall of Fame. Famous pinoy movie actors and actresses have their own stars to brag about. A big clock and an icon tower can be seen here and are regarded as two of the landmarks of Eastwood City. Check out their website to know more about Eastwood City.

Here are some of my pics of my second visit to Eastwood City.
