To Keep Mosquitoes Away

Don’t you hate it when you love the outdoors but hate the insects buzzing around, messing up your day -out? Why do these insects like mosquitoes attracted to us anyway? Well, it is said that mosquitoes are attracted to our sweat, body odor, skin temperature and moisture. Of course, we sweat when we do physical activities outside the house. Therefore, there is a big chance that you’ll end up scratching your arms and legs from mosquito bites after a day out in the sun.

So how do we prevent mosquitoes from sucking our blood? Scientists have discovered that Downy Antibac repells mosquitoes by at least 33% Downy Antibac contains a unique fragrance system and an anti-bacterial ingredient that helps fight the smell of sweat by preventing the growth of malodor causing germs, making your clothes less attractive to mosquitoes.

A Story About Friendship

Globe’s Kadakwento is a story about seven friends, a story of their friendship. Kada Kwento consists of five (2 released) short films (3-5 minutes long). The short film is about their indifferences, their ambitions, their funny moments as friends. You can watch these videos here. I’m sure you’ll all relate to what the actors are portraying in the films. Watch it with your friends.

Vongole Pasta For The Holy Week

The Holy week has started and the people have already made some sacrifices. My family’s not Catholic though we agree on some customs during Lenten Season. One of the customs that we agree on is not eating meat except, well, seafoods. It is synonymous to our diet of wheat, oats and fish. We’ve been on this diet from the start of April so giving up meat is not shocking for us anymore. And recently, I attended another Dona Elena Cuisinera Club cooking demo and Chef Golda Liamson got this really healthy and perfect recipe for the holy week. It’s Vongole (clams) Pasta.

Here it is:
1/3 cup Dona Elena Extra Virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp finely chopped garlic
2 cans minced clams
1 Tbsp chopped parsley
pinch of red pepper flakes
salt to taste
1/3 cup Dona Elena White Wine
2 Tbsp butter
grated Parmesan cheese
freshly ground black pepper
Spaghetti noodles or angel hair noodles

Can’t Wait To Watch Sarah and John Lloyd’s New Movie

I’m pretty excited about this new movie called You Changed My Life. I know you’ve heard all about it and don’t deny it! This movie is a sequel to their box office movie hit A Very Special Love last August 2008. The Sarah-John Lloyd tandem is one of a kind. They don’t have to make kissing scenes just to show their chemistry. That’s the topmost thing that I like about the movie – it’s wholesome. Just watch the movie trailer (love the kili-kili part).

Can’t wait to watch it on February 25!

Palawan Is Featured In KC And Richard’s Valentine Movie

Coron, Palawan is featured in KC and Richard’s new movie under Viva and GMA films. The producers of their movie, “When I Met U” wanted to showcase the world-class beauty of the Philippines. The location for the movie was personally chosen by the two main stars. For me, Palawan is like our last rainforest, our own Amazon. I’ve learned that there’s a place in Palawan where giraffes and other African animals roam free in the reserve, and a barracuda lake too, with swimming barracudas, of course. Palawan is also home to the longest navigable underground river in the world now competing in the New 7 Wonders of the World (don’t forget to vote!) It can be found in Puerto Princesa, another municipality of Palawan.
