A Texan Hangout In The City

[ad#body-big]
I never tasted a real Texan-Style Steak before. Imagine my surprise with the size of the Ribeye Steak that was served to us at Texas Roadhouse Grill. You have to be really hungry if you want to dine here. The steak was juicy and flavorful. They only use 10-ounce Angus Beef Steak imported from the US. Imagine the price, but the flavor is worth it. The place was styled like a Wild West Saloon. It’ll be a real Wild West experience for all.

You can ask their friendly cowboy and cowgirl hosts servers how you want your steak done, whether it be rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done. While waiting for your steak, you can order Santa Fe Nachos, Loaded Texas Chips and the Jessie James sampler. If beef isn’t your type, there are other dishes available for you like Geronimo’s Seafood Marinara, Billy the Kid’s Shrimp Pasta, Oriental Chicken Salad, and Parmesan Crusted Fish Fillet.

Texas roadhouse Grill has two branches so far. One in Bonifacio High Street and another in El Pueblo, Ortigas. The Texan saloon opens daily from 11am to 12 Sundays-Thursdays and 11am to 2am Fridays and Saturdays.

Servathon Recruits More Volunteers

[ad#body-big]
The Servathon or service marathon is a one-day event when volunteers from corporations and groups dedicate their time and energy to community service and provide assistance to marginalized sectors of Metro Manila. Last year, activities included library development and school refurbishing at Plainview Elementary School and Nueve de Febrero Elementary School. Also included were basketball court repainting at Pangarap Shelter, house building with Habitat for Humanity, kitchen construction at Childhouse and mural painting at the National Children’s Hospital.  Apart from being a day of service, this is also a fundraising event of the foundation for its year-round volunteer programs and projects.

For Servathon 2009, a day of fun and games was attended by Marc Nelson, Nina Huang and other respected people. Here they are with some lucky kids after a race in Velasquez Park.

The UNO Cooking Throwdown, An Alpha Event

[ad#body-big]
The recent partnership between two Alpha firms, Italian kitchen appliance line Indesit and men’s lifestyle magazine UNO, resulted in an explosive collaboration which culminated in the sexy and distinctive cooking throwdown, held at the Monogram Experience Center in Serendra.

Following its relaunch into the market, UNO magazine tapped two Alphas to lead the throwdown – in the red corner, the debonair and stylish Atticus King, Vice President of the magazine; and against him in the blue corner, the gamine award-winning album and tattoo artist Sarah Gaugler, this country’s answer to Kat D. of Miami Ink. Both contenders have a ready mix of substance and style, beauty and brains – with a healthy dash of originality, sensibility and success. Ready assistance was given by alpha chefs Eugene Raymundo, of Five Cows Restaurant and Limones fame, and Rolando Laudico, of Bistro Filipino fame (and of course, we mustn’t forget that memorable Selecta ice cream commercial). The event was hosted by UNO Alpha EIC and all-around funny man, RJ Ledesma, who provided just the right mix of tongue-in-cheek panache and entertaining hilarity.

Give In To The Challenge

[ad#body-big]
Earlier this year, Celeteque Advanced team created the True Results Challenge. Over 50 Filipina women aged 30 to 55 years old from all walks of life, became part of an amazing experience that resulted in roughly around 92% of their fine lines gone in 6 weeks.

The women first went through an assessment session with an accredited dermatologist, who verified the number of fine lines the women had. The women were then instructed to use a mystery product, which was actually the new Celeteque advanced Aniti-Wrinkle Facial Moisturizer, in place of their usual moisturizer.

With regular and proper use, the women from the “True Results” Challenge experienced significant reduction of their fine lines during the 6-week period.
